Superintendents Message

A Message from Mr. Moore – Spring 2019

It’s amazing that we are past the half way point of the school year!! I love this time time of year as we are in the midst of preparing a plethora of activities with Elementary field trips, track, baseball, softball, OAP, UIL Academics and our Community Homecoming. We are also diligently preparing all of our students for the STARR/EOC exams that will begin shortly and continue through the first of May. This by far is the busiest time of the year and I am grateful for the commitment and care that our staff give to every student to help them to be successfull.

HS Academic UIL is right around the corner and we are going after our 3rd consecutive District Championship. Also our HS One Act Play is gearing up for their district contest March 9th @ Panola College. Good Luck to Mrs. Collins and our Theatre kids!!

AG/FFA is currently preparing for the Houston Heifer and Ag Mechanics show as well as the Cherokee County show . Last year the Ag department racked up in blue ribbons and scholarships and raised over $10K at their end of year Banquet/Auction.

I’d like to close by giving recognition to the entire faculty and staff at WISD for their daily commitment to the academic success of every Wells ISD student. Don’t ever forget to thank a teacher for all they do for our students and community on a daily basis. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of educating your children and remember Pirate Pride never Dies!!
