2005-06 Tax Rate Set

On Tuesday, August 30, 2005, the Wells Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate did.

Note: The rate for last year and this year is $1.50. Because property values are more than last year, there will be an increase in revenue.  However, last year’s taxable value declined $ 4 million from the prior year.  Compared to 2003-04, WISD will likely receive less total (state and local) money in 2005-06.
