The staff hosted a surprise baby shower for Richard Boring, Wells' science teacher, on Wednesday afternoon.  Richard is an expectant father whose baby is due to arrive on December 13th, with a little help from his wife, Blake.

Before running the gauntlet of punch, cake, and gifts, Richard took time out to practice his baby-rocking technique in the library's rocking chair.
 

Then it was time to open the presents!
 
 

Even though he was a novice, and outnumbered 20 to 1 by women who had plenty of baby shower experience, Richard was undaunted, and managed to survive the entire experience without too much damage to his psyche or his masculine image.
