B if for Butterfly (lady)

Kindergarten and first graders recently had a visit from the "butterfly lady", Joan Hedger, a certified butterfly farmer who owns Joan's Butterflies in Alto, TX.  Butterfly farmers raise thousands of butterflies like the monarch, tiger swallowtail, and many other colorful varieties. People contact butterfly farmers and order butterflies to be released at weddings, graduations, and other special occasions.

Students gathered in the auditorium where they heard all about the life cycle of the butterfly and were able to get a closeup view of some specimens the butterfly lady brought along.

The group was fascinated with the topic and had a lot of questions and comments.

Everyone got to take a peek at the butterflies brought along for the presentation.

Of course, everyone had their favorites...........
